YEAR OF THE SNAKE
2025 Energy Forecast
As we enter the Year of the Wood Snake, we step into a time filled with the promise of change and next-level growth. This is a year in which the efforts we’ve made over the past few years can begin to flourish, and we are supported in laying new, solid foundations for the next chapters of our lives.
A Call to Transform and Evolve
As we step into the Lunar New Year on 29 January 2025, we enter the potent energy of the Year of the Wood Snake—a time marked by profound transformation, intuitive wisdom, and regenerative growth. The Wood Snake calls us to move wisely, sense deeply, and evolve boldly, shedding the outdated to make space for the aligned.
2025 promises to be a year of transformation through shedding. Just as a snake sheds its skin when it outgrows its current form, this year invites the collective to do the same. We are urged to release outdated structures and embrace new systems and ways of thinking. Like the snake leaving behind its old skin, we are called to let go of beliefs, habits, and attachments that no longer serve us. True growth begins with letting go.
This is a year of expansion, transformation, and creative strategy—laying the foundations for an innovative and regenerative future, guided by lived experience, ancient wisdom, and the intelligence of nature’s life principles.
By the end of this year, we may look entirely different—perhaps even unrecognisable to our former selves. Expect a time of purification, rapid technological innovation, and transformation that defies the limits of the logical mind.
Change by Shedding
Across cultures and traditions, the snake has long been revered as a symbol of transformation, rebirth, desire, fertility, and protection. In Norse, Slavic, African, and Indigenous traditions alike, the snake slithers through myth and medicine as an archetype of wisdom—Sophia herself—and regeneration through the cycles of life, death, and rebirth.
Much like the serpent must shed its skin to survive, we too are being called to release what no longer serves us. Outdated beliefs, stagnant habits, expired roles—these are the skins that restrict us. As Grace Lee Boggs, the legendary activist and philosopher, once said:
“A revolution that is based on the people exercising their creativity in the midst of devastation is one of the great historical contributions of humankind.”
This is not a year of empty revolution but of intentional evolution. The kind of change that emerges from stillness, discernment, and lived experience. A time when the clarity of vision comes after the shedding, when the snake’s clouded eyes give way to renewed sight.
The Power of Stillness and Strategic Movement
Snakes do not waste energy. They observe, sense, and move only when it matters. In 2025, we are invited to embody this precision and patience. Strategic movement, rather than impulsive action. Aligned decisions rather than reactive ones. Wisdom, not force.
This is a year to cultivate intuition, tune into the subtle, and trust the unseen. The magnetic energy of the Wood Snake favours those who are inwardly aligned and outwardly discerning. What we build now can become the strong foundation for new eras of our lives.
Growth Through Nature’s Intelligence
Snakes shed their skin, embodying the cycles of life, death, and rebirth. They remind us that transformation is a natural part of existence—and that letting go is imperative for growth.
Guided by the principles of biomimicry—learning from nature’s wisdom—the snake reveals a critical truth:A snake that cannot shed its skin perishes.
Transformation is not optional; it is essential. It is our way forward—individually and collectively.
And there is beauty in this shedding. Like trees making way for new buds, or the moon cycling into darkness before rebirth, the snake shows us that true growth requires surrender, precision, patience, and evolution.
When a snake is about to shed its skin, its eyes cloud over, impairing its vision until the shedding is complete.
After releasing what it no longer needs and becoming a new, more aligned iteration of itself, it approaches the world with eyes renewed.
For a long time now, our eyes have been clouded too. But now, as we outgrow old paradigms, we have the opportunity to see with clarity and acuity.
The Wood Element: Vitality, Creativity, Renewal
According to Chinese Philosophy, The Wood element represents growth, vitality, and renewal. Combined with the snake’s intuitive and transformative nature, it encourages us to embrace change and actively cultivate both personal and spiritual growth.
The Wood element fuels this year with energy for expansion and regeneration. It is the force of Spring, of seeds pushing through soil, of green shoots unfurling toward light. With it comes:
A call to renew our ways of thinking.
An invitation to rebuild systems based on life-honouring values.
A reminder to reconnect with nature, with one another, and with our own inner knowing.
What will you aim your arrow toward?
Now is the time to ask. Now is the time to act—with wisdom, with grace, and with purpose.
May the Year of the Wood Snake Bring You…
Clarity of vision.
Strength through surrender.
Power through alignment.
And the courage to become unrecognisable to your old self.
There are places you haven’t been—where you already belong.
